Sylvester finishes 2009 as the UK's No. 1 Border Collie !!
Syl pictured left with the results of his hard work !!)

"Sylvester" is from Sophie's second and final litter to Kobi. He is named after the world famous De Beers Diamond Mine in South Africa, producers of the world's best diamonds.
As well as a very strong female pedigree, Sylvester is line bred on Ch. Tullacrest Thief of Hearts, a cross we have had much success with previously.
After a short but successful junior campaign in Australia, culminating in his Aust Championship at just 19 months, Sylvester is now enjoying an extended holiday in the UK with new owner Gary Clarke-Claygar
BCs and we are thrilled to bits with what they have achieved in just 9 months of selective showing. Key Highlights to date include:

Even more remarkable is the fact that he achieved two Reserve Challenges (in huge entries) and BIS and RUBIS awards from the Yearling Class (12-24 mnths) moving into Open in March on his 2nd birthday.
Prior to leaving Australia, Sylvester attended 2 Specialties plus a semi-specialty achieving:
Reserve Challenge & Inter in Show - Southern Dists BC Specialty, Oct 2008
Reserve Challenge & Opp Inter in Show - BCC of NSW Specialty, Oct 2008
Challenge Dog & RUBOB/Aust Ch. Gained - Aust Working Dog Club of NSW, Oct 2008
Being from slow maturing lines we are sure the best is yet to come .....
As a sire, Sylvester is just commencing his stud career and we look forward to watching his progeny as they commence their show careers. His young daughter Julia, D. Dusky Rose has already chalked up multiple class in group and reserve challenge awards at 7 months
of age as well as winning the Puppy Bitch class at Brisbane Royal.

Open Dog : 2. Clarke & Wheatley’s Sh. Ch / Aust. Ch. Danari De Beers; top
quality dog, so much to like about him, glamorous moved as good as 1. Well handled, everything is in the right place. Still quite a young dog, just lost out on a split decision. Reserve CC.

Welsh Kennel Club - 22nd August 2009
Open Dog : 1. Clarke & Wheatley’s Aust. Ch. Danari De Beers (Imp); Beautifully presented top quality dog with an overall well balanced outline, head full of quality, good dentition,
excellent pigment and lipline. Dark oval eyes, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, nice depth of chest, elbows tucked in, straight front and tight oval feet. Right amount of bone, firm topline and croup, well muscled hindquarters, good length of tail,
moved with good reach creating a really harmonious picture. CC and BOB. Judge : Mrs. Lynne Salt
Three Counties Championship Show - Mr Gary Gray
Open. "An exceptionally tough class, full of quality, with my first 5 being of excellent breed type.
1.Clarke & Wheatley’s Aust. Ch. Danari De Beers (Imp Aust.); 2yrs B & W male of excellent quality & type. A medium sized male, who
impressed me greatly by his presence in the ring, correct head & masculine expression, dark mask, dark eye, correct ear set, correct reach of neck into well laid shoulders and good forehand angles with correct length of lower leg, so often lacking in the breed
today. Good bone and nice tight feet, correct top line into well-moulded croup & tail set, good length of tail. Correct angles and proportions in his hindquarters delivering good drive on the move. He has a good overall body shape, without being overdone in any
way and he was well balanced throughout. It was his movement that impressed me most, he was sound both ways with that classic breed side gait, showing good reach and drive with minimal lifting on the front, certainly one that could have gone all day. He was shown
in excellent coat and good firm condition and handled to perfection. An honour to award this dog his 2nd CC, BOB and a pleasure to see him 2nd in a very strong Pastoral Group."
Judge Gary Gray
Working and Pastoral Breeds of Wales - Mr Mike Vincent
Open dog.1st.Clarke and Wheatleys, Australian Ch Danari
De Beers. Dog CC. "This incredibly handsome male headed a trio of top quality exhibits and these placings
were the closest decisions of the day. Superb conformation, excellent shoulder and front, well sprung ribs, deep chest, well muscled
throughout. Gleaming coat of correct texture and superbly presented. His floating effortless movement proved to be the deciding factor." Mike Vincent.
Midlands BCC 1/2/09 - Ms Irene Kiff (Fenacre)
Yearling Dog (12 entries/2 absent) 1 Clarke and Wheatley's Aust Ch. Danari De Beers. This was a very strong class and this 22 months old dog took my eye as soon as he entered the ring. He has a beautiful head and expression, a good length of neck and super
shoulder angulation. His chest is deep, his topline level and his rear very well muscled. His movement was true coming and going and his side action was smooth and ground covering. Res CC.
